Division Profile
The Southeast Division is a leading producer of aggregates in Georgia and South
Carolina. Formed in 1978, This division currently operates 35 granite and
limestone quarries. To locate or learn more about a facility near you, use our

The Southeast Division’s origins in Georgia date back to the late
1940s and Stockbridge Stone, which was acquired by Vulcan in 1958. Our South
Carolina roots date back to the 1930s and Campbell Limestone, which was
purchased by Vulcan in 1968. The Liberty Quarry, which Campbell Limestone began
operating in 1934, was originally opened in 1894 by Southern Railway.
The Southeast Division strives to have a positive impact on all
the communities we serve. We’ve had the privilege of forming business education
partnerships with many local schools in order to help provide additional
teaching resources and college scholarships. We enjoy taking a personal role in
the education process in the classroom and through guided quarry tours.
We also take great pride in our efforts to preserve the environment. Many of
our quarries have acreage set aside as wildlife habitats that are certified by
the Wildlife Habitat Council. These habitats provide over one hundred different
species with refuge that otherwise would not be available in the surrounding
suburban areas. From community service to environmental stewardship, our
employees take very seriously the responsibility of being a good neighbor to
the communities we serve.
We operate our facilities in a socially responsible manner. Visit
our Social Responsibility page to learn
more about our commitment to the environment, our employees, and the
communities we serve. Additionally, Vulcan
Materials Company Foundation supports many public and charitable
projects such as working with schools, supporting environmental stewardship and
encouraging employee involvement in the communities where we have operations.
