Monday, September 18, 2006 VULCAN TO PRESENT AT THE NEW YORK SOCIETY OF SECURITY ANALYSTS (NYSSA) CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS CONFERENCE Birmingham, Alabama – September 18, 2006 – Don James, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE:VMC), will be presenting at The New York Society of Security Analysts Construction Materials Conference on Tuesday, September 26.
